One of the most urgent societal concerns facing the globe today is the increase of hate speech. Its dramatic rise in Europe has brought about a rise in violence and hostility against minority groups, as well as social division and xenophobic behavior. Hatred is destructive in any context, but in cities it may have disastrous effects. Large cities tend to be more segregated than small towns, where a feeling of shared identity is fostered by tightly linked neighborhoods. As immigration drives population expansion in most European cities, hate speech is becoming more prevalent, which is seriously damaging already marginalized communities.https://www.kaiciid.org/resources/publications/policy-paper-engaging-culture-and-media-counter-hate-speech-big-europeanShare this:FacebookXLike this:Like Loading...
