While sexism is a well-known problem in today’s online social environment, misandry is still mostly unstudied. To address this disparity and get a deeper understanding of the phenomena of gendered hate speech, the scientists conduct a linguistic, emotional, and structural analysis of four publicly identified misogynistic and misandric Reddit communities. They examine whether, when diverse variables are considered, significant and systematic differences between misogynistic and misandric communities may be derived. When a double viewpoint is used, both male-to-female and female-to-male, the authors’ experimental review reveals no systematic changes. This suggests that gendered hate speech is not made worse by the gender of the offenders, yet it is a prevalent feature of toxic groups.https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-81567-9Share this: Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Like this:Like Loading...
