The current study aims to examine the many targets of hate speech on the darknet forum Dread as well as the ways in which hate-motivated events impact postings made there. About 13% (n = 135) of the postings in our sample contain hate speech that targets several groups, according to this study’s examination of posts (n = 1,047) made three months before and after significant hate-motivated incidents. The researchers also looked at the differences in targets between subjects that were forum-specific (internal) and targets that were not forum-specific (external). The results indicate that there is little discussion of hate-motivated incidents in the Dread mainstream media. However, compared to studies on hate speech on social media, the percentage of hate speech incidents is smaller. These incidents mostly target religious, ethnic, and gender-related groups.https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/07418825.2025.2501544Share this: Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Like this:Like Loading...
