Experts, decision-makers, and impacted groups convened for two days to discuss the growing levels of hatred, discrimination, and division in Canada and around the world. The necessity for fair legal responses was emphasized as speakers examined far-right movements, online hate, and the effects on victims. Yazidis, Hazaras, Tigrayans, and Hizmet members’ testimonies emphasized how worldwide these threats are. Holding internet platforms responsible, guaranteeing inclusive legal protections, increasing trauma-informed care, cultivating cross-community partnerships, and encouraging empathy and education were among the main proposals. The results emphasize that although hate is adaptive, our united front, based on solidarity and human rights, can be equally effective. https://northernjusticewatch.org/2025/08/19/countering-hate-conference-report-2025/ Share this: Print (Opens in new window) Print Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window) WhatsApp Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window) Bluesky Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Like this:Like Loading...
