Using data from 79 political science and international relations studies, the present systematic narrative review investigates the political aspects of hate speech on the internet. Platform policies, regulatory frameworks, identity threats, far-right rhetoric, and media narratives are among the main causes examined. The political ramifications, such as the normalization of discrimination, the repression of opposition, and the incitement of organized hate, are also highlighted. In order to lessen the effects of hate in the social media age, the paper also summarizes some counterstrategies, with special emphasis on allyship, digital literacy, deterrence tactics, and counter-speech. https://www.mdpi.com/2076-0760/14/10/610 Share this: Click to print (Opens in new window) Print Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window) WhatsApp Click to share on Bluesky (Opens in new window) Bluesky Click to email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Like this:Like Loading...
