The International Day for Countering Hate Speech is June 18, and the dates of the No Hate Speech Week, June 17–20, 2024, are planned around it. The UN General Assembly passed a resolution in 2021 that acknowledges the need to combat hate speech, xenophobia, and prejudice and urges all relevant parties to step up their efforts in accordance with international human rights legislation. The purpose of No Hate Speech Week is to create a forum for discussion on current advancements in law and policy, as well as best practices for their application. It also aims to promote collaboration amongst important stakeholders in the fight against hate speech. A comprehensive and multi-stakeholder approach to preventing and countering hate speech in the member states can be made possible by the networking opportunities that the participation of many stakeholders offers.https://rm.coe.int/anti-rumours-training-course-during-the-no-hate-speech-week-2024-draft/1680af772fShare this:FacebookXLike this:Like Loading...
