Online hate speech is being surveyed and documented by community members as part of a DW Akademie initiative with partners in Kenya. The project’s investigative team, known as Trust Lab, scans the internet for controversial, hostile, and discriminatory content that can vilify social groups and deter them from taking part in public discussions. These findings are noted and shared with civil society organizations and other entities that support the impacted groups in an effort to build communities.
