Preventing and addressing the spread of unlawful hate speech online is the goal of the DSA’s Code of Conduct on Countering Illegal Hate Speech Online +. After a favorable evaluation by the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services, the updated Code of Conduct on Countering Illegal Hate Speech Online + (the “Code of conduct+”) was included into the Digital Services Act’s (DSA) regulatory framework on January 20, 2025. Building on the Code of Conduct, which was established in 2016, the Code of Conduct+ improves how online platforms handle information that is considered hate speech under EU and Member State regulations. In this particular sector, it makes it easier to comply with and enforce the DSA effectively. https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/library/code-conduct-countering-illegal-hate-speech-online Share this: Print (Opens in new window) Print Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window) WhatsApp Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window) Bluesky Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Like this:Like Loading...
